Signing ceremony for technology transfer

KIMS starts localizing heat-resistant materials for high-efficiency gas turbines!

Korea Institute of Materials Science(KIMS), a non-profit government-funded research institute under the Ministry of Science and ICT has successfully transferred its newly developed alloy technology, KIMS Titanium-aluminide alloy(KIMS TiAl#16) for gas turbines to Airgen Co.,Ltd.

KIMS held this signing ceremony on Jan 5th(Tue) in a conference room at SAMJEONG TURBINE, a manufacturing company located in the City of Gimhae where President Junghwan Lee, Dr. Seongwoong Kim, Dr. Seungeon Kim of KIMS, and President Jinwook Kim of SAMJEONG TURBINE, CEO Sooho Bae of AIRGEN Co., Ltd. participated.

The transferred technology is about manufacturing and its process to produce an ultra-high temperature Titanium-aluminide alloy that increases temperature limit by 100℃ compare to the conventional Titanium-aluminide(TiAl) commercial alloy.
