Exceptionally flexible optoelectronic devices

KIMS developed exceptionally flexible and patchable optoelectronic devices

Researchers at KIMS have successfully developed a rollable optoelectronic sensor for the first time in Korea. Led by Dr. Yonghun Kim, the research unit is part of the Korea Institute of Materials Science, a government-funded research institute under the

Ministry of Science and ICT of the Republic of Korea.

This newly developed technology uses next-generation 2D nanomaterials, which are gaining popularity recently and can be

rolled up as easily as papers while being as thin as hair. This technology can be attached to wearable devices and human skin

because it makes little noise caused by user movement and can be freely rolled. The researchers expect that the devices can be

used as an application in patch form and a next-generation physical information monitoring platform in the future.
