Twinwiz Co., Ltd., a research spin-off company of the Korea Institute of Materials Science (KIMS), a government-funded research institute under the Ministry of Science and ICT, made a pre-series A investment of KRW 2 billion in less than a year since its establishment amidst the cold investment. Pre-series A investment is between the ‘seed investment’ received at the stage of building a startup idea into a prototype and the ‘series A investment’ received right before a full-fledged market attack. The investment was participated by Korea Technology Finance Corporation, Blue Point, Gyeongnam Venture Investment, and Busan United Holdings.

Twinwiz Co., Ltd. specializes in functional liquid antibacterial/antiviral additives. It developed and commercialized a liquid-type antibacterial/antiviral additive that generates high metal ions. It is possible to impart antibacterial/antiviral functions without changing the appearance or physical properties of existing products b simply adding a small amount of the additive to various resins such as plastics and films, fibers, inks, paints, and varnishes.

Chang-soo Kim, CEO of Twinwiz Co., Ltd., said, “Through this investment attraction, we plan to focus on business expansion in earnest, such as scale-up and mass production advancement." Meanwhile, Twinwiz Co., Ltd., which was founded in March 2022, was selected for TIPS, a technology start-up support program by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. It recently won the grand prize (Minister of SMEs and Startups Award) in the Gyeongnam Startup IR(Investment Relation) on-site competition, Gyeongnam Startup IR Competition Grand Prize (President of the Changwon Chamber of Commerce & Industry Awards), and Southeast Mega City Entrepreneurship Competition Encouragement Award (Director of Ulsan Regional Office of SMEs and Startups Awards).
