Contactless science sharing program "Science Delivery"

KIMS started "Science Delivery", contactless hands-on science program

Korea Institute of Materials Science(KIMS), a government-funded research institute under the Ministry of Science of the Republic of Korea started "Science Delivery" which is an contactless hands-on science program for kids. KIMS selected some elementary schools which are geographically isolated or located in disadvantaged areas and delivered science kits and books.

"Science Delivery" basically delivers science kits and books to the households where they have kids so that the students can have hands-on experience on science in their homes even in this pandemic situation. KIMS designed this program to help students who haven't been able to participate in science sharing or activity programs due to COVID-19. Any household can take part in this educational benefit by filling out an application form online.

Welcoming science month in April, KIMS selected some elementary schools which are geographically isolated having less than 50 students in total including Wonyang Elementary School in Gyeongnam and Deokjeok Elementary School in Incheon, and provided science kits and books worth of 1.5 million won to the schools. The schools were supposed to submit their reviews after they experienced the science using the scientific materials supported by KIMS.
