KIMS signed an MOU with Gyeongsang National University

 

Leading mutual growth of academic-research institute through technological cooperation!



The Korea Institute of Materials Science, a government-funded research institute under the Ministry of Science and ICT, signed an

MOU with Gyeongsang National University to enhance technology and contribute to industrial development. At the MOU signing

ceremony held at the main building of GNU in Jinju, Gyeongnam-do on December 14 (Tuesday) the two institutes pledges to do

their best to strengthen academic-research cooperation.

 

GNU, one of the Korea NU10 (Korea's 10 National Universities), is the largest university in the southern region, established by 

the merger of Gyeongsang National University and Gyeongnam National University of Science and Technology in March 2021.

The university is a mecca for academic development and nurturing excellent talents through cooperating with public

institutions in Jinju Innovation City, the aerospace industry in Jinju/Sacheon, machinery industry in Changwon, offshore plant

industry in Tongyeong, and Nano Convergence National Industrial Complex in Miryang and is solidifying its position as a

prestigious university in Gyeongnam. 



Under the MOU, both institutions will carry out academic research and exchanges (joint task execution, seminars,

workshops, etc.), joint use of their facilities and equipment establishment of equipment network to promote the joint use

of research equipment, and exchange of technical information and cooperation through mutual technical advice.



Jung-hwan Lee, the President of KIMS, said “As the representative national university in the region, GNU formed a carbon

neutrality committee with local experts to actively cultivate talents to realize carbon neutrality in the local community. By

actively cooperating with GNU to plan and promote various activities including technical cooperation, KIMS will take the lead in

establishing a cooperative system that can contribute to the development of the local community and the nation.”
