KIMS-SNU host the Material Colloquium Season 2

Accelerating the localization of materials!

The Korea Institute of Materials Science, a government-funded research institute under the Ministry of Science and ICT, and Seoul National University (SNU), Korea’s best research-focused university, will open the Material Colloquium Season 2 to share technologies and interests and promote joint research.

The Material Colloquium, held once a year from 2021 to 2023 as a seasonal program, is hosted and organized by the Research Planning and Coordination Division of KIMS and Department of Materials Science and Engineering of SNU. This year, various programs are planned under the theme of advanced functional materials. Season 1 of the colloquium, held last year, was about structural metal.

The first program held on Friday, February 11 was about nano and bio convergence material technology, led by Prof. Ki Tae Nam at SNU and Sung-Gyu Park at KIMS. The Material Colloquium Season 2 will run until Friday, June 24 with 10 programs.

Jung-hwan Lee, the President of KIMS, said, “It is highly encouraging that the Materials Colloquium, jointly led by the two Institutes, is stably established for its 2nd season. We will continue to provide support so that we can put heads together and share diverse opinions to find a constructive direction for the development of materials technology.”
