Alink, a spin-off company of KIMS, singed an MOU with Naom

Work hand in hand to solve the fine dust problem!

In order to actively tackle the country's fine dust problem, Alink (CEO Hye-mun Lee), a research institute spin-off company of the Korea Institute of Materials Science (KIMS, President Jung-hwan Lee) under the Ministry of Science and ICT, signed an MOU with Naom (CEO Sun-bak Kwon), a spin-off company of the Korea Railroad Research Institute (President Seok-youn Han). The MOU is the first case of cooperation between venture companies launched by government-funded research institutes and the convergence of materials, parts, and artificial intelligence solutions to strengthen the competitiveness of SMEs.

Alink is a green venture company that produces innovative materials and parts for a clean future based on 3D aluminum coating technology. The company's core business areas are fine dust and pathogen removal, indoor air purification for special industries such as data centers and clean rooms, and MID (Molede Interconnected Device) for lightweight transportation systems.

Alink developed an economic and effective air purification system for air conditioners in large buildings that can remove fine dust and pathogens. The system was applied to air conditioners of a large financial institution last year and successfully completed a demonstration test. Alink obtained Green Certification based on its fine dust removal system equipped with conductive filter module. It also signed a sales contract with a large domestic entertainment agency, YG Entertainment, and installed 30 sets in its new office building in Hapjeong-dong, Seoul.

Alink will manage the low-pressure loss, high-efficiency conductive filter module product line and Naom will operate artificial intelligence solution technology to check the air quality status in real time and to manage the condition of the air conditioning system and replacement period of the filter by an AI solution. It is expected that operational effectiveness will be maximized and operating costs will be minimized.

Jung-hwan Lee, the President of KIMS said, “KIMS will spare no efforts to manage the best indoor air quality by applying Naom’s artificial intelligence solution technology to Alink’s products. We will continue to work hard to apply our products to places where many people gather, such as supermarkets, subway stations, hospitals and clean rooms as well as businesses that have to maintain a clean environment to produce semiconductor, display equipment, food and medicine.”
