KIMS signed an MOU with Gyeongbuk TechnoPark

Going hand in hand to innovate MPE technology!


 

To foster parts and materials-related industries and develop the local economy, Korea Institute of Materials Science(KIMS), a government-funded research institute under the Ministry of Science and ICT, signed an MOU with Gyeongbuk TechnoPark (GBTP, Director In-seong Ha). An MOU signing ceremony was held in the conference room of the main building of KIMS on Wednesday, July 20 and the two organizations promised to do their best to establish a firm cooperative relationship and strengthen mutual technical cooperation.


GBTP, a base organization for nurturing local industries, aims to discover and nurture knowledge-based SMEs by establishing a cooperative network with innovation organizations in the region including industry, academia, research institutes, and government, and making strategies and policies for the growth of Gyeongbuk. Its mission is to contribute to technological innovation and competitiveness of local businesses by supporting the growth of the local industry.


The MOU is expected to prompt (i) to incorporate the mutual exchange of materials and parts-related technology for advanced new materials, future mobility, and eco-friendly convergence textile, (ii) to develop cutting-edge technologies through R&D cooperation in materials and parts, (iii) to cooperate in material and parts project planning and technical support, (iv) to conduct testing and evaluation of materials and parts and to cooperate in database construction and utilization.


Jung-hwan Lee, the President of KIMS, said, “GBTP is Gyeongbuk's base organization for innovation that has been supporting the growth of local businesses by discovering and nurturing promising technology companies. KIMS will spare no effort to become an institution that contributes to the development of the local community and the nation by constantly communicating with GBTP.”
