Won the Minister of Education Award through a science sharing program

KIMS won the award for helping teenagers experience science activity program

Korea Institute of Materials Science(KIMS), a government-funded research institute under the Ministry of Science of the Republic of Korea was recognized as an excellent organization for helping youth to explore their career activities in the field of materials science, and won the Minister of Education Award.

KIMS was certified as an exemplary institute in 2016 by the Ministry of Education for providing a good educational donation career experience program for teenagers. They have contributed to raise young scientists by running the program which is specialized in the field of materials science. So far, 1,680 students from 68 schools across the country have used this program.

Also, the research institute came up with an brilliant contactless science experience program, "Science Delivery" which basically delivers science kits and books to the households so that the students can have hands-on experience in their homes even in the pandemic situation. KIMS designed this program to help students who haven't been able to participate in field experience programs due to COVID-19. So far, 900 households have used this uncontact science program.
