KIMS and Seoul National University(SNU) successfully finished the Material Colloquium Season 1 which lasted for

5 months from February. Also, the two institutions held Communication Day on Tuesday, July 6 to discuss the direction

of joint research and other matters.

The Materials Colloquium was launched by KIMS and the Dept. of Materials Science and Engineering at SNU (BK21 Four:

Materials Division for Educating Creative Global Leaders) to respond to the 4th industrial revolution and Materials 4.0,

including localization of materials, parts, and equipment. The Colloquium aims to share technical information among Korea's

outstanding researchers in materials science, to have free discussions and to suggest future directions for joint

research.

The Material Colloquium is held seasonally, once a year from 2021 to 2023. Under the theme of "Structural Metal Materials”

this year, the researchers had heated discussions from February to June. For the next season, they're planning to discuss and

find research directions in "Analysis and Evaluation of Powder Ceramics and Materials,” and "Energy and Functional Materials

and Parts.”
