Leading a win-win economy through communication and R&D |
To promote win-win cooperation with the local community, the Korea Institute of Materials Science held a win-win exchange
meeting in the conference room of KIMS on October 25 (Mon), together with the Win-Win Economy Committee of the Changwon
Chamber of Commerce and Industry (hereafter, Changwon CCI). KIMS is a government-funded research institute under the
Ministry of Science and ICT.
To revitalize the local economy and support the local community suffering from the impact of COVID-19, Changwon
CCI launched four sub-committees such as the Win-Win Economy Committee, the Regional Economy Committee, the Local
Policy Committee, and the International Cooperation Committee. The Win-Win Economy Committee is carrying out activities
such as △ the coexistence of large, small, and medium-sized enterprises and with the local community, labor, culture, and art
world; and △ building a network for the revitalization of win-win cooperation between companies and the local community.
About 20 members of the Win-Win Economy Committee of the Changwon CCI visited KIMS, including Chairman Koo Ja
cheon. KIMS screened its promotional video and introduced the institute's key research area. Both organizations discussed
carbon-neutral and ESG-centered economic activities and the establishment of industry-research cooperation directions for
the coexistence of companies and the local community.
Jung-hwan Lee, the President of KIMS, emphasized, “Communication with companies that support the local economy is the
responsibility of KIMS, the government-funded institute in the region.” He also stated, “At the current situation when all the
people are working together to overcome the COVID-19 crisis, we will do our best to communicate with companies and work
together to come up with ways to realize growth and a win-win economy.”
