​Some prospective Ph.D. graduates specializing in materials science were awarded for publishing outstanding papers in their field. 

The award was hosted by Korea Institute of Materials Science(KIMS), a government-funded research institute under the Ministry of Science of the Republic of Korea.

KIMS started giving the award since 2003 to secure excellent personnel and establish human network from major universities in Korea and so far, a total of 44 people from 11 universities won the prize.

This year, KIMS chose 10 major universities in Korea including Seoul National University, Pohang University of Science and Technology and gave the prize to one student from each university. The winner received the reward of KRW 500,000 per person along with a certificate. KIMS will continue this meaningful event for excellent personnel to keep thier research in the field of materials science and encourage their research.  ​
