The Korea Institute of Materials Science, a government-funded research institute under the Ministry of Science and ICT, awarded the 2022 Best Paper Awards in material science to nurture excellent talents.
Since 2003, the Best Paper Awards of KIMS have been awarded to 54 students from 11 universities, including the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) to secure outstanding talents at major universities and build a network in materials science. This year, the prizes were awarded to a total of 11 students respectively from 11 major universities in Korea, including Seoul National University, Pohang University of Science & Technology (POSTECH), and KAIST. The winners will receive an award certificate and a prize of 500,000 won, which will be individually delivered to the student in February 2022.
Jung-hwan Lee, the President of KIMS, said, “As a government-funded research institute representing Korea’s materials field, KIMS has a responsibility to make excellent talents take interest in the material field and to continuously encourage materials-related research activities. I hope that this award can arouse students' interest and passion for materials science.”
